Hi! My name is Luis Succi, I'm a guitarist, composer, producer and music teacher.

And this is a brief introduction into who I am and the objective of this enterprise.

Born and raised in Santo Andre, Sao Paulo (Brazil), in the nineties, I've always had great fascination for art, chiefly music.

Along my journey I was able to achieve a “great goal” I carried since teenagehood: to study in one of the best music schools of Sao Paulo, the late Escola de Musica & Tecnologia (EM&T), especifically in the Instituto de Guitarra & Tecnologia (IG&T), directed by the brazilian guitar icon, Mozart Mello. And I had the opportunity to engage with and experience workshop presentations by students and masters such as Edu Ardanuy, Rafael Bittencourt, Joe Moghrabi, Silas Fernandes, among others, deepening both my understanding of music and my tecnique.

As a child, in my curiosity and audacity I'd climb to the top of the wardrobe to get the acoustic guitar my father kept.

Even though I didn't know “how to play that song” nor could I properly hold the guitar, which seemed so big and with strings

that were so hard to press, time after time I'd pretend play, trying to reach the strings with my little hands and little arms,

sometimes just drumming on it since the strings were too much for me...

Virtually twenty years and much learning later not all has changed, for I'm still trying to grasp something that is beyond me,

with my little hands and little arms I keep struggling to reach something bigger than I am.

And such is precisely the goal of Tryoomphant Music: to produce a vision greater than the sum of elements by means of sound.

Music permeates all spheres and stages of life: movies, birthdays, weddings, parties, events... The “great goal” now is to use the knowledge, experience and musical expression attained through a lifetime to bring forth what is best, in any sphere, stage or endeavour.

A few years ago I took part as a guitar player in an event that marked my life,

not only for the satisfaction of playing itself, but also for surprises I couldn't expect would take place.

My band had been chosen as a finalist during the “Cult In Music” festival, by an english teaching school called Cultura Inglesa.

On the final day of the event, which happened in Pinheiros, Sao Paulo, there I was backstage anxious and nervous,

rehearsing what we would play much earlier than our turn to ensure that I'd play well and enjoy our performance.

It was already known that a great musical influence of mine would be there as a judge and presenter, even so I was still surprised to see Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) walking by the backstage area to announce the next act. We greeted each other briefly, but in my shyness and awkwardness

I didn't want to start a conversation or ask for a picture fearing I would be inconvenient.

When our turn came I was able to overcome my insecurities and I played the best I could, enjoying every moment and expressing all the intensity of what I felt through the music. And among more than fifteen guitar players participating during the final day, for my great surprise and joy, I was chosen as the best guitar player of the event. Andreas Kisser himself seemed glad to announce the result and did not spare compliments to the passion expressed through my performance, which surprised me even more, for on the occasion he had a serious expression, hard to distinguish between aversion or perplexity.

From my perspective there were guitarists there whom I considered better than I was then, or at least with a better technique and still a good stage presence. And maybe because I was among the youngest, maybe because of my enthusiasm combined with the technique demanded for the songs we played, or yet because my grit was displayed by practicing and rehearsing way before coming onstage, the judges chose me that day.

Ever since then I carry the same attitude, the same commitment, enthusiasm and passion.

And the result that day as in everything I do musically is the consequence of authentic passion and pleasure

in creating, producing and reproducing what music evokes in me.

Whether in arrangement, mixing, production, teaching or performance the goal is to always offer the best.

And with every project, not only represent, complement and elevate that which I'm a part of or in charge of, but evolve with each step.
